Band 5 Staff Nurse – Brooke Treatment Unit (BTU)

About the role

We are seeking a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the Brooke Treatment Unit (BTU), a fast‑paced, nurse‑led day‑case infusion and investigation service. The unit supports patients with chronic conditions across multiple specialties such as neurology and gastro‑enterology, delivering specialist clinics and drug‑specific therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective infusion therapies, including Cyclophosphamide, immunoglobulins, Tysabri and infliximab.
• Deliver patient‑centred care in a high‑pressure environment while maintaining professional standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and act as a supportive team member.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to trust policies.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, energetic and able to hit the ground running.
• Works well under pressure, self‑motivated and capable of independent decision‑making.
• Demonstrates respect, empathy and a strong sense of ownership for patient outcomes.
• Committed to continuous learning and professional development.

Required skills

• Infusion therapy administration.
• Knowledge of specialist drugs: Cyclophosphamide, immunoglobulins, Tysabri, infliximab.
