Band 6 Health Visitor – Public Health Lead

About the role

HCRG Care Group is seeking a passionate and experienced Band 6 Health Visitor to join Wiltshire Children’s Community Services. The role focuses on delivering the 0‑5 Healthy Child Programme, reducing health inequalities, safeguarding children and improving outcomes across a defined population.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the public health lead for a skill‑mix health‑visiting team within a defined locality.
• Deliver the universal reach of the Healthy Child Programme, assessing health needs of children aged 0‑5 and implementing personalised or targeted interventions.
• Take responsibility for the outcomes of children in the defined population and collaborate with key partners to address identified public health needs.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships and networks with families, children and partner agencies.
• Promote physical, mental, emotional health and wellbeing of children and families through partnership working.

Required profile

• Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification.
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Experience leading health‑visiting teams and safeguarding children.
• Knowledge of the 0‑5 Healthy Child Programme and public health principles.
