Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Community)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a community children’s therapy team on a three‑month locum contract. You will support children and young people aged 0‑19 years across schools, clinics and other community settings, helping them achieve their full potential in everyday environments.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children and young people aged 0‑19.
• Develop and deliver treatment plans, advice and interventions to promote participation in daily activities and education.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and produce reports using the SystmOne system.
• Liaise with parents, carers, teachers, healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
• Travel between mainstream and specialist schools, community clinics and other appropriate settings.

Required profile

• HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist.
• Previous experience as a Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist in community, school or clinic settings.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for regular travel.
• Strong communication, organisational and clinical reasoning abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the SystmOne clinical system.
