Band 7 Practitioner Psychologist – Clinical Service (Birmingham)

About the role

The Band 7 Practitioner Psychologist will deliver a Clinical Psychology Service at a postgraduate doctoral level, supporting children with neurodevelopmental needs across the Birmingham catchment area. Working autonomously within team policies, the role involves direct clinical delivery to children, families and carers, as well as consultation with non‑psychologist colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological diagnosis, assessment and therapy for children.
• Offer advice and consultation on children’s psychological care to multidisciplinary teams and carers.
• Utilise research skills for audit, policy development and service improvement.
• Accountable for the direct delivery of clinical services, ensuring high‑quality care.
• Maintain a 37.5‑hour work week, delivering services across all sectors of care.

Required profile

• HCPC registration.
• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy).
• Essential CAMHS experience.
• Previous NHS experience.
