Bank Care Assistant – Residential Care Home

About the role

As a Bank Care Assistant in a Barchester care home you will support residents with daily living tasks, provide companionship and ensure they receive high‑quality, person‑centred care. The role is flexible, covering shifts when permanent staff are absent, and offers a varied, rewarding experience in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with meals, hydration and personal care following individual care plans.
• Provide one‑to‑one time and social interaction to promote wellbeing.
• Support residents in daily activities, ensuring safety and dignity.
• Record observations and communicate any changes in condition to senior staff.
• Cover shifts for annual leave, sick leave or other staffing needs as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience caring for older adults or in a care‑home setting.
• Positive, can‑do attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Empathy, warmth and a genuine desire to support vulnerable people.
