Bank Chef – Care Home Kitchen

About the role

HC-One is seeking a dedicated Bank Chef to join the catering team at its Walton-on-Thames care home. In this flexible, as‑needed position you will prepare wholesome, homemade meals that meet nutritional standards and bring comfort to residents each day.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents in a care‑home kitchen.
• Ensure all dishes are presented appetisingly and meet dietary requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Collaborate with the catering team to manage stock, ordering and menu planning.
• Adhere to HACCP procedures and report any safety concerns.

Required profile

• Qualified cook with an S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Understanding of HACCP and food‑safety regulations.
• Positive, caring attitude and ability to work well within a team.
• Willingness to attend safeguarding training and recognise signs of abuse.

Required skills

• Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2).
• Knowledge of HACCP principles.
