Bank Children's Community Immunisation and Screening Support Assistant

About the role

This temporary, part‑time position supports the delivery of Surrey’s school‑based flu vaccination programme and the National Childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP). Working across a range of primary and secondary schools, you will help protect the health of children and young people while gaining experience in public health service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the administration and delivery of the school‑based flu immunisation programme for Reception to Year 11 pupils.
• Support the NCMP by measuring and recording height and weight for Reception and Year 6 children.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, children, families and health professionals.
• Promote vaccination and healthy lifestyle messages to pupils and parents.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure data confidentiality and comply with CQC standards.
• Travel between various school sites across Surrey and adhere to scheduled shift times (9 am‑2 pm).

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for improving child health and wellbeing.
• Ability to work confidently with children and young people.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, caring attitude.
• Valid driving licence and a current Care Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Flexibility to self‑book shifts and cover up to 25 hours per week.
