Bank Kitchen Assistant – Hayling Island

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and organised Kitchen Assistant to join our care home team on Hayling Island. You will work on a flexible, zero‑hour bank basis, supporting the chef in preparing balanced meals for residents while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the chef in preparing healthy meals and snacks, respecting dietary requirements and allergens.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in line with COSHH and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Work both collaboratively and independently, managing time effectively during 10‑hour shifts.
• Communicate with residents to ensure meals meet their needs and preferences.

Required profile

• No prior care experience required; previous catering or kitchen experience is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of food safety and COSHH regulations.
• Caring, self‑motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to show empathy.
