Bank Kitchen Assistant / Housekeeper (Part‑time)

About the role

Join Cygnet St William’s, a 12‑bed neuro‑psychiatric service, as a Bank Kitchen Assistant/Housekeeper. You will work flexible bank shifts, supporting residents with balanced meals and a clean, safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing appetising, nutritionally balanced meals.
• Carry out cooking tasks and general kitchen duties.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas and dining room.
• Wash, store and organise utensils and dishes.
• Rotate stock, receive deliveries and store supplies correctly.
• Follow personal and food‑hygiene standards, including COSHH regulations.
• Handle, maintain and store kitchen equipment safely.

Required profile

• Previous catering experience, preferably in a care setting.
• Holder of a valid food hygiene certificate.
• Enthusiastic, keen to learn and a reliable team player.
• Polite, professional attitude with strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail and pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team and under supervision.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
