About the role
We are looking for an outstanding Bank Kitchen Assistant / Housekeeper who is passionate about food and wants to make a difference. You will work flexible bank shifts at Cygnet St William’s, a 12‑bed neuro‑psychiatric service supporting people with acquired brain injuries and progressive neurological diseases.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals and perform cooking tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas and dining room, including washing utensils and dishes.
- Rotate stock, put away deliveries and store equipment according to Cygnet procedures.
- Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations and uphold food hygiene standards.
Required profile
- Experience in catering, preferably within a care setting.
- Holder of a food hygiene certificate and good personal hygiene standards.
- Enthusiastic, keen to learn, polite, professional and an excellent communicator.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team and under supervision.
Required skills
- Food hygiene certification.
- Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
