Banking Administrator (Legal Biller)

About the role

The Banking Administrator (Legal Biller) will join the Defendants Billing Team, processing daily BACS receipts, defendant bills, reversals and corrections while handling billing‑related queries. The role requires accurate high‑volume work, strong teamwork and a professional customer‑focused approach.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate BACS receipts to the appropriate matter files in Aderant CMS and advise branches of allocations.
• Maintain and clear unidentified cash receipts in the suspense account in line with company policy.
• Prioritise workload, resolve erroneous or anomalous items and address branch queries promptly.
• Provide cover for Legal Cashiers and other team members during absences.
• Proactively manage the suspense account by contacting payors to obtain matter references.
• Ensure compliance with Solicitors’ Account Rules to avoid SRA breaches.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in legal billing.
• Strong organisational, prioritisation and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and high‑level data‑entry accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and independently from start to finish.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
