Banking Infrastructure & Platform Engineer (Oracle FLEXCUBE)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated, hands‑on Banking Infrastructure & Platform Engineer to support and manage our core banking platforms, including Oracle FLEXCUBE, Oracle ERP, FCCM, Finastra OPICS and Suade. The role is based in London and focuses on ensuring availability, stability and performance of critical banking applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day operational support to guarantee platform availability and successful EOD processing.
• Investigate and resolve batch failures, performance issues and reconciliation exceptions.
• Monitor application health, system performance and assist with deployments and platform upgrades.
• Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux and AIX servers, managing accounts, permissions, scheduled jobs and routine patching.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate operational tasks and batch processing.
• Deliver first‑ and second‑line support for Oracle databases (FLEXCUBE, ERP, FCCM) and SQL Server databases (OPICS), including performance monitoring, backup, recovery and replication.
• Support Oracle WebLogic environments – deployments, troubleshooting and certificate management.
• Respond to incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, execute approved changes and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in disaster‑recovery exercises, validate backup processes and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in banking infrastructure and platform operations.
• Hands‑on expertise in Linux/AIX administration and Oracle‑based core banking systems.
• Proven ability to manage high‑availability environments, batch processing and EOD operations.
• Experience working with incident, problem and change management processes.
• Familiarity with disaster‑recovery testing, capacity planning and regulatory compliance.
