Beauty Allocator

About the role

Selfridges is looking for a Beauty Allocator in London. As Allocator you ensure the correct stock is on the right place at the right time to maximise sales, optimise the flow of stock through the business to the stores via auto-reordering and allocation, and support the merchandising team with analysis and communication to the buying teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maximise stock availability and stockturn through effective auto-replenishment and allocation
• Highlight slow-selling products and recommend actions to improve stockturn
• Transfer stock between stores and the distribution centre once agreed, meeting RTV deadlines
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the department, concession performance, best and worst sellers and competitor activity
• Input markdown following direction from the Merchandiser/AM
• Work with the DC to resolve queries and highlight unresolved problems
• Chase suppliers for delivery within the allocated window, help book in at the DC and monitor supplier fulfilment rates
• Provide weekly, seasonal and ad-hoc analysis for the Buyer and Merchandiser on risks and opportunities
• Keep systems knowledge current (Retek, Excel, Essbase) and attend required training

Required profile

• Strong retail knowledge and solid understanding of merchandising
• Organised, proactive and able to multi-task, prioritise and meet tight deadlines
• Problem solver who applies different ways of thinking to different situations
• Great verbal and written communicator, working across teams
• Analytical, results-driven and able to use data to measure performance
• Pacey, positive, flexible and comfortable taking responsibility for tasks

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office software
• Knowledge of systems such as Retek and Essbase
