About the role
Creative Support Ltd is seeking a friendly, outgoing volunteer to act as a befriender for people we support in Blackburn. You will meet regularly with service users, offering companionship and helping them feel confident to engage with their local community.
Key responsibilities
- Meet service users on a regular, agreed‑upon basis.
- Provide friendly conversation, a cup of tea, walks or outings to local cafés.
- Encourage participation in community activities and help build confidence.
- Report any safeguarding concerns to staff promptly.
- Follow Creative Support policies and respect personal boundaries.
- Attend supervision sessions and complete any required training.
Required profile
- Warm, sociable and a good listener.
- Reliable with a few flexible hours each week.
- Committed to respecting boundaries and safeguarding procedures.
