Behaviour Assistant – SEN School (Full‑Time, Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, flexible and resilient Behaviour Assistant to support a specialist SEN provision for students aged 11‑19. The role is full‑time, temporary and based on‑site at an East London school, with a start date as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑class support across a range of lessons, adapting to a changing timetable.
• Respond promptly to behaviour support requests from teaching staff.
• Deliver short‑term, targeted interventions on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis.
• Accompany students on school trips, including swimming and outdoor learning activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a special school setting (mainstream‑only or sports‑coaching backgrounds are not suitable).
• Ability to work flexibly with different classes and age groups throughout the day.
• Physically active and energetic to support students with varied and complex needs.
• Professional communication and teamwork skills.
• Resilience in managing challenging behaviours.

• Negotiable daily rate of £100‑£125.
• Opportunity to work in a supportive, specialist SEN environment.
• Full‑time hours: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
