Behaviour Mentor – Haringey School

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join the pastoral team of a forward‑thinking secondary school in Haringey, North London. The role starts in September 2026 and is term‑time only, offering a full‑time, long‑term placement supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one mentoring and pastoral support to pupils who need additional guidance.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage behavioural change.
• Support classroom behaviour management and deliver restorative conversations after incidents.
• Promote regular attendance, punctuality and engagement in lessons.
• Help students regulate emotions and develop coping strategies.
• Liaise with teachers, Heads of Year, SENDCo and safeguarding teams to monitor progress.
• Contribute to a positive learning culture throughout the school.

Required profile

• Resilient, approachable and passionate about helping young people.
• Previous experience in roles such as Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker, Sports Coach, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor or Residential Support Worker.
• Excellent communication and strong behaviour‑management techniques.
• Calm, patient approach and confidence working with teenagers.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
