Behaviour Mentor

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join an outstanding special needs school in Uxbridge. You will work directly with pupils who need extra support for their emotional and behavioural development, helping them thrive in a caring, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for students with behavioural and emotional needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement positive behaviour strategies.
• Design and deliver tailored interventions that enable students to manage emotions and behaviour effectively.
• Foster a nurturing atmosphere that builds self‑confidence and social skills.
• Act as a positive role model, encouraging improved behaviour and engagement in learning.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an SEN or behavioural support setting.
• Patience, empathy and a strong commitment to helping students overcome challenges.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Confidence in applying behaviour‑management techniques and de‑escalation strategies.
• Adaptability, proactivity and the ability to work effectively within a team.
