About the role
We are seeking a motivated graduate or aspiring psychologist to join a welcoming primary school in Maidenhead as a Behaviour Mentor. The role starts in September and offers hands‑on experience supporting pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and social development.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils who need additional behavioural guidance.
- Help children recognise, understand and regulate their emotions.
- Apply positive behaviour management strategies and de‑escalation techniques.
- Assist teachers in creating a calm, positive and engaging classroom environment.
- Build constructive relationships with pupils, staff and families to ensure consistent support.
- Collaborate with the SEN team to implement tailored behaviour support plans.
Required profile
- Graduate or final‑year student in psychology, education, counselling or a related field.
- Patient, resilient nature with a genuine passion for helping children.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Interest in developing a career in educational psychology, teaching or child development.
Required skills
- Ability to use positive behaviour management strategies.
- Proficiency in de‑escalation techniques.
- Effective interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
What we offer
- Full‑time position starting in September.
- Daily rate of £92.59 – £95.
