Behaviour Mentor – SEND & SEMH Specialist (Term‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs in Leyland. This term‑time only position runs Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm, and offers a rewarding entry point into specialist education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for students with SEND and SEMH requirements.
• Assist teachers in delivering differentiated and engaging learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and help pupils regulate emotions.
• Build trusting relationships to encourage student engagement.
• Support pupils inside and outside the classroom, including implementation of individual learning plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies at all times.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs.
• Enhanced Child DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• At least two years of recent employment with references available.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Resilient, patient, and adaptable attitude.
