Behaviour Mentor – Special Needs School

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a reputable special‑needs school in Stevenage. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment for students aged 5 to 19 with complex learning, autism, and challenging behaviours.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to tailor support for individual student needs.
• Assist students during classroom activities, promoting engagement and understanding.
• Provide one‑to‑one support covering personal care and social‑emotional development.
• Implement and reinforce positive behaviour management strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for working with children who have special educational needs.
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a UK school or care setting.
• Proficiency in English.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
