Behaviour Mentor – Support Students with Behavioural Challenges

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work closely with young people who need extra guidance. In this role you will help students develop positive behaviours, build emotional resilience and succeed both in the classroom and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Support students on a 1:1 and small‑group basis to improve behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
• Build trusting relationships that foster personal growth and self‑esteem.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and parents to implement behaviour plans and strategies.
• Act as a positive role model, promoting respect, responsibility and reflection.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to the pastoral and leadership teams.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or emotional needs (school, youth work or similar).
• Calm, compassionate and consistent approach.
• Resilience, adaptability and a good sense of humour.

Required skills

• Strong communication and de‑escalation skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and build rapport.
