Behaviour Mentor – Support Students with Emotional & Behavioural Needs

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join an outstanding special‑needs school in Uxbridge. You will work directly with pupils who need extra support to develop emotional regulation and positive behaviour, helping them thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for students with behavioural and emotional needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement positive behaviour strategies.
• Design and deliver tailored interventions that help pupils manage emotions and behaviour.
• Foster a supportive atmosphere that builds self‑confidence and social skills.
• Act as a positive role model, encouraging improved engagement in learning.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in SEN or behavioural support.
• Patient, empathetic and committed to helping students overcome challenges.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Confident in applying behaviour management and de‑escalation techniques.
• Adaptable, proactive and able to work effectively within a team.
