Behaviour Mentor – Support Students with SEMH Needs

About the role

We are looking for a resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist PRU school in West Drayton. The role involves supporting students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and barriers to learning, helping them re‑engage positively with education.

Key responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small‑group basis.
• Manage behaviour and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
• Encourage engagement and positive choices in learning activities.
• Provide consistent support across the whole school day.
• Build trust and act as a positive role model inside and outside the classroom.

Required profile

• Calm, patient and resilient.
• Confident in managing challenging behaviour.
• Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.
• Ability to build strong relationships quickly.
• Consistent and professional approach.
• Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Support Worker, Sports Coach or Learning Mentor is highly beneficial.
