About the role
We are looking for a resilient and passionate Behaviour Support Worker to join our inclusive school in Barking. You will work directly with students who have SEM‑H and behavioural challenges, helping them regulate emotions and engage with learning. The position is full‑time and based onsite at the school in Barking, offering a day rate of £90‑£120 depending on experience. You will be part of a collaborative team that values student wellbeing and strives to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Implement behaviour strategies, support de‑escalation and maintain a consistent, structured learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to deliver coordinated support.
Required profile
- Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour or SEM‑H needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills, patience and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Confidence in building strong relationships with students.
