Behaviour Support Worker – Secondary School (Southwark)

About the role
We are seeking a resilient and proactive Behaviour Support Worker to join a secondary school in Southwark. You will work with pupils aged 11‑16, providing targeted behavioural intervention and emotional regulation support.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 mentoring and support during lessons and social times.
- Implement, monitor and review individual behaviour support plans.
- Use de‑escalation techniques to manage incidents and maintain a safe environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEND department to coordinate support.
- Record progress and contribute to pupil wellbeing reporting.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting pupils with behavioural or SEMH needs.
- Experience in a school, PRU or alternative provision is desirable.
- Confidence in behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies.
- Resilient, proactive and able to build positive relationships with young people.
- Available for a full‑time role with an immediate start.

- Basic safeguarding awareness.
