About the role
We are looking for an experienced Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in the Wandsworth area. You will provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils across primary and secondary phases, helping them engage positively in learning.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group behaviour support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Implement de‑escalation strategies and behaviour management plans.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral leads.
- Help create a safe, structured and encouraging learning environment.
Required profile
- Proven experience working with challenging behaviour (SEMH, PRU, youth work, residential settings, or similar).
- Strong resilience, patience and a calm approach.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
- Confidence in using behaviour strategies and de‑escalation techniques.
- Available to start as soon as possible.
