Bid Manager (Construction & Infrastructure)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to lead the preparation and submission of complex infrastructure tenders. You will work for a well‑established mechanical and electrical engineering contractor delivering design, installation, maintenance and asset‑management services across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end bid management for infrastructure projects such as highways, rail, tunnels, bridges, airports and ports.
• Review tender documentation, client requirements and technical specifications.
• Coordinate input from estimating, commercial, operational and technical teams.
• Prepare high‑quality, compliant and competitive tender submissions.
• Manage bid programmes, ensuring deadlines are met and submissions are of a high standard.
• Support bid strategy, value‑engineering initiatives and continuous improvement of the tender process.
• Work hybrid with occasional travel to the South‑East London office and project sites.

Required profile

• Bid Manager or Senior Bid Coordinator with experience in construction, engineering or infrastructure.
• Proven track record managing bids for major civil engineering works (highways, rail, tunnels, bridges, airports, ports).
• Strong organisational and project‑management skills, able to handle multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to interpret tender documentation.
• Full UK driving licence.
