Billing Specialist

About the role

As a Billing Specialist in the professional services industry, you will manage day‑to‑day billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing for clients. Based in London, this position supports the accounting and finance department by handling client billing and maintaining compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate client invoices in a timely manner.
• Review and reconcile billing discrepancies or disputes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure billing data is accurate and complete.
• Maintain and update client billing records and information.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Provide support to the finance team on ad‑hoc projects and reporting needs.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing queries and payment follow‑ups.

Required profile

• Experience in billing or a related finance role, ideally within professional services.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Proficiency in financial systems and software.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with clients and internal teams.
• Understanding of accounting principles and practices.
