Binding Authorities Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Binding Authorities Technician to join a leading Lloyd’s broking house in the City of London. The role involves managing the end‑to‑end binding authority process for property and casualty business, supporting brokers and underwriters across multiple syndicates.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain binding authorities, lineslips and facilities, including BARs registration and upload to Atlas.
• Submit and sign binding authorities in Xchanging and handle premium and risk bordereaux.
• Prepare, invoice and dispatch off‑slips/certificates and maintain client and broking documentation.
• Liaise with syndicate delegated underwriting teams, underwriters, clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate data analysis, KPI reporting and compliance with company policies and mandatory training.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Binding Authorities Technician, preferably in property and/or casualty insurance.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with clients, underwriters and internal teams.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and independent working abilities.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to quality standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Eclipse.
• Knowledge of Sequel (SQL) databases.
• Solid IT competency and ability to work with specialised insurance platforms such as Xchanging and Atlas.
