Binding Authority Technician

About the role

This position is with a well‑established Lloyd’s broker, joining a specialist Delegated Authority team. The Binding Authority Technician will support brokers and account executives in the efficient administration of Binding Authority business across a portfolio of International Non‑Marine risks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support to brokers for placement and ongoing management of Binding Authority business.
• Process premiums, claims, contracts and market filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Lloyd’s and company requirements.
• Handle Xchanging/Velonetic enquiries promptly and professionally.
• Liaise with underwriters, coverholders, brokers and clients to verify information required for contract processing.
• Maintain Binding Authority records in Lloyd’s delegated authority systems and other market platforms.
• Monitor contract inception, renewal and expiry dates, meeting agreed service standards.
• Assist with bordereaux collection, review and escalation of outstanding items.
• Support internal audits, compliance reviews and regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a technical Binding Authority or Delegated Authority role within a Lloyd’s broker.
• Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s market procedures and delegated authority processes.
• Experience in premium and/or claims processing.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of DCOM, Atlas, Xchanging or Velonetic systems.
• Familiarity with Lloyd’s market procedures and delegated authority processes.
• Experience in premium and claims processing.
