Biology Lecturer – Part‑time / Full‑time (Temporary)

About the role

Reed FE is seeking qualified Biology Lecturers to deliver high‑quality teaching to learners aged 16‑19 and apprentices across further education settings in West London. The role can be undertaken on a part‑time or full‑time basis and is temporary, offering flexible hours at a competitive hourly rate.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver biology lessons in line with curriculum standards.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments and student outcomes.
• Collaborate with fellow staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and support student pathways.

Required profile

• Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Biology.
• Teaching qualification such as AET, PTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education.
• Assessors’ qualification (e.g., A1, D33/D34, CAVA, TAQA, IQA) is desirable.
• Experience working with 16‑19‑year‑olds in an educational or apprenticeship setting.
• Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
