Biology Teacher – Full‑time (1‑year) – KS5, London

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Biology Teacher to join a large comprehensive secondary school in Greenwich, London, for a one‑year full‑time contract starting September 2026. The role involves teaching General Science and Biology to Key Stage 5, as well as delivering KS3 science foundations and BTEC Applied Science.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Biology and General Science lessons for KS5 students.
• Teach KS3 science curriculum and support students progressing to GCSE.
• Deliver BTEC Applied Science modules.
• Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and administrative support.
• Utilise modern laboratories, ICT resources and data‑logging equipment to enhance learning.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Science specialism in Biology.
• Proactive and engaging teaching approach with a clear understanding of high‑quality teaching standards.
• Ability to use ICT effectively in the classroom.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and administration skills.

Required skills

• ICT (Information and Communication Technology) proficiency.
• Experience with data‑logging equipment and laboratory technology.
