BMS Commissioning Engineer

About the role

A BMS Commissioning Engineer is sought to join the Projects Team, delivering Building Management System solutions across commercial, industrial and public sector environments. The role involves commissioning cutting-edge building control systems and working alongside experienced engineers and project managers, with opportunities to own projects and progress your career.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, configure and optimise BMS hardware and software
• Complete BMS installations across multiple project sites
• Integrate third-party systems such as HVAC, lighting and energy management controls
• Test, fault-find and optimise BMS systems, and diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Interpret electrical drawings, control schematics and technical documentation
• Work with Project Engineers, Project Managers, subcontractors and customers
• Assist with project documentation such as point schedules, descriptions of operation, graphics and network architecture
• Deliver customer training and system handovers to facilities teams
• Maintain high standards of quality, health and safety and customer service

Required profile

• Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, building controls and energy management systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control wiring diagrams
• Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Willingness to travel across the Midlands and surrounding areas as required

Required skills

• BMS platforms such as Trend, Siemens, Tridium, Honeywell or Schneider
• Reading electrical drawings and control schematics
