About the role
The BMS Engineer will join a specialist industrial client in the Cambridge area, delivering maintenance, fault‑finding and commissioning for Building Management Systems across multiple sites. This is a full‑time, 40‑hour week role on a three‑month PAYE contract with the potential to become permanent.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on BMS and HVAC control systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair faults on BMS hardware and software.
- Install, configure, test and commission BMS controllers, sensors, actuators and related equipment.
- Work with Trend, Tridium (Niagara), Distech, Siemens and other BMS platforms.
- Attend reactive breakdowns and participate in an on‑call rota.
- Perform software updates, minor programming changes and system optimisation.
- Monitor system performance and recommend energy‑saving or remedial improvements.
- Prepare quotations, proposals and accurate service reports.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
Required profile
- City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience with BMS/BEMS and HVAC controls.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and diagnose panel faults.
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility for DBS/SC clearance.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional out‑of‑hours on‑call duties.

What we offer
- £27.26 per hour (visible rate).
