Body Repair Instructor

About the role

Arnold Clark is seeking an experienced Automotive Technical Trainer specialising in Body Repair to join our GTG Training Centre in Glasgow. This permanent, full‑time position works Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑4:30 pm, delivering apprenticeship and commercial training courses.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality apprenticeship training in body repair, adhering to health, safety and COSHH regulations.
• Use appropriate training methods and aids to teach modern repair techniques.
• Assist the team leader and automotive manager in maintaining workshop discipline and safety.
• Compile VQ records, complete awarding body documentation, and assess trainees against set standards.
• Support the development of training and assessment processes.
• Stay current with industry methods and technological developments.
• Provide welfare support to apprentices and employers when required.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in Automotive Body Repair or equivalent.
• Proven track record with modern repair techniques and technology.
• Excellent communication and the ability to inspire learners.
• High organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive, enthusiastic attitude.
• Full, clean driving licence held for at least one year.
• Willingness to travel to other UK training centres as needed.

Required skills

• Level 3 qualification in Automotive Body Repair.
• Modern vehicle body repair techniques and technology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Full, clean driving licence.
