Bookkeeper (22.5‑30 hrs/week) – Office Based

About the role

Fox & Co Accountants Limited is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to support the bookkeeping manager in their Alresford office. This part‑time position offers 22.5‑30 hours per week and involves working directly with a range of clients in a friendly, close‑knit team.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices and day‑to‑day transactions.
• Complete bank reconciliations and CIS returns.
• Maintain up‑to‑date client bookkeeping records.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Deal with client queries and explain account information.
• Prepare and review Profit & Loss, Trial Balance and Balance Sheet reports.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end work, including quarterly MTD submissions for self‑employed and landlords.
• Liaise with HMRC and the wider team to resolve issues.

Required profile

• Confident with bookkeeping and able to work independently.
• Good understanding of Profit & Loss, Trial Balance and Balance Sheet reports.
• Experience preparing VAT returns.
• Comfortable communicating with clients and handling queries.
• Organised, reliable and detail‑oriented.
• Willing to ask questions and collaborate within a team.
