Bookkeeper – Accountancy Practice

About the role

A fantastic accountancy practice in Folkestone is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their successful team. You will work directly with a mixed client base across Kent and the South East, delivering bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT services. The role offers a hands‑on opportunity to develop relationships and add value to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments, invoices, income and receipts and enter data into accounting software.
• Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets and cash‑flow reports.
• Pay vendor invoices and monitor bank account balances.
• Complete and submit VAT returns.
• Verify the accuracy of business accounts and flag errors.
• Develop monthly management accounts for clients.
• Use cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.

Required profile

• AAT studying, qualified, or qualified by experience.
• 3‑5+ years of client‑facing bookkeeping experience in practice, bureau or self‑employment.
• Experience with bookkeeping software is advantageous.
