Bookkeeper – Accountancy Practice (Lytham St Annes)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Bookkeeper to join a well‑established, privately owned accountancy practice in Lytham St Annes. You will work closely with senior team members and a diverse portfolio of SME clients, delivering high‑quality bookkeeping services and supporting their financial needs.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales and purchase ledger transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and control account reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts.
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support.
• Utilise cloud‑based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.

Required profile

• Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice.
• Studying for AAT or possessing equivalent bookkeeping experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Comfortable communicating with clients at all levels.
• Enjoy working in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
