Bookkeeper – Accounting Practice

About the role

Join an established and growing accountancy practice that serves a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries. As a Bookkeeper you will ensure clients receive accurate, timely financial information throughout the year, not just at year‑end.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for several client accounts.
• Process invoices, receipts, payments and perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns on schedule.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Liaise with clients to gather information, answer queries and provide support.
• Support the wider team with ad‑hoc accounting tasks.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and HMRC requirements.

Required profile

• Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Confident communication skills when dealing with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
