Bookkeeper – £35,000 DOE – Hybrid – East Grinstead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well‑established chartered accountancy firm in East Grinstead. This full‑time permanent position offers hybrid working with one day per week in the office and flexible start and finish times.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments, invoices, income and receipts.
• Enter financial data into accounting software (Xero).
• Complete VAT returns for sole traders and occasional partnerships or limited companies.
• Identify and record inconsistencies to aid reconciliations.
• Provide occasional support to Client Managers during year‑end accounts preparation.

Required profile

• Proven bookkeeping experience, particularly with sole traders.
• Experience with partnerships and limited companies is beneficial but not essential.
• Good working knowledge of Xero preferred (full training provided).
• Knowledge of Sage and CCH is advantageous.
• Professional, personable and confident in a client‑facing role.
• Based within a reasonable commuting distance of East Grinstead.
