Bookkeeper – £35,000 + Hybrid Working

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well‑established accountancy practice in East Grinstead. The role offers a stable, full‑time position with hybrid working and clear career development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments, invoices, income and receipts for sole traders and occasional partnerships or limited companies.
• Enter financial data accurately into Xero.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Identify and flag inconsistencies to support reconciliations.
• Assist with year‑end accounts preparation.
• Manage bookkeeping duties in a client‑facing environment.

Required profile

• Solid bookkeeping experience, particularly with sole traders.
• Experience with partnerships or limited companies (advantageous).
• Working knowledge of Xero (training can be provided).
• Familiarity with Sage and CCH (beneficial).
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Professional, personable approach with confidence in client‑facing situations.
• Residence within reasonable commuting distance of East Grinstead.
