Branch Assistant – Retail Sales & Customer Service

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Branch Assistant to join our Newbury store, helping customers choose the right tiles and related products while delivering exceptional service. You will work in a vibrant retail environment, supporting both public and trade customers.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and sell tile and related product ranges to customers face‑to‑face and over the phone.
• Maintain showroom cleanliness, tidiness and up‑to‑date point‑of‑sale displays.
• Process cash transactions, refunds and till operations accurately.
• Stay informed about interior‑design trends and how tiles fit into renovation projects.
• Handle customer orders by phone and provide product usage advice.
• Contribute to branch sales targets and uphold the brand reputation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a retail environment.
• Interest in interior‑design trends.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.
• Outgoing, friendly attitude and willingness to lift heavy boxes of tiles.
