Branch Assistant – Temp to Perm (Staines)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable, customer‑focused Branch Assistant to join our busy Staines depot on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis. You will be the first point of contact for customers and will support a mix of sales, administration and warehouse activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service in‑branch, by phone and via email.
• Process sales and hire transactions accurately using internal systems and tills.
• Manage hire administration – bookings, off‑hires, returns and equipment tracking.
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders efficiently.
• Replenish stock, maintain housekeeping standards and assist with goods‑in, stock checks and deliveries.
• Provide product and hire advice, identifying suitable solutions for customers.
• Perform general admin duties such as order processing, data entry and system updates.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a customer‑facing, trade counter, warehouse or hire desk environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast‑paced branch.
• Proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to support different business areas.
• Reliability, punctuality and a solid work ethic.

Required skills

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and internal systems.
