Branch Sales Supervisor – Builders Merchants

About the role

The Branch Sales Supervisor will drive sales and ensure smooth branch operations, stepping in for the Branch Manager when required. This role focuses on converting customer enquiries into sales and delivering high‑quality service to both trade and retail clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager, overseeing daily operations.
• Respond to inbound calls and provide face‑to‑face assistance at the trade counter.
• Generate quotes, follow up warm leads and maintain the CRM system.
• Offer technical advice, after‑sales support and nurture long‑term trade relationships.
• Identify opportunities to increase annual spend from existing customers.
• Handle administrative duties such as staff rotas and paperwork.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a builders merchants environment with strong knowledge of trade and retail needs.
• Proven sales ability, self‑motivated and results‑driven.
• Excellent product knowledge and a warm, customer‑focused approach.
• Strong IT aptitude and accurate data‑entry skills.
