Broadcast IP Delivery Engineer - 6 months FTC

About the role

Sky is looking for a Broadcast IP Delivery Engineer on a six‑month fixed‑term contract to support live sports productions. You will work on‑site at events, preparing and operating graphics, connectivity and contribution systems that enable high‑quality broadcast delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, configure and test OB graphics systems such as Viz Engine, Trio, Chyron Prime, Tetra and Paint, including NDI/HTML5 workflows.
• Set up and manage contribution and connectivity equipment – Peplink routers, TVOB switches, Nimbra, Dante/AES67, Starlink, LiveU, Makito and Appear encoders – for venue‑to‑Sky signal delivery.
• Build, stage and operate fly‑away kits (VFA/MCRFA), handling rack builds, network configuration, device patching and readiness checks for domestic and international OBs.
• Provide on‑site engineering support during events, assisting with rig/derig, troubleshooting graphics, IP switches, encoders, clocks and KVM‑over‑IP faults.
• Integrate Sky systems into partner OB trucks, installing IP kits, configuring VLANs, encoder frames and KVM endpoints.
• Conduct workflow testing and QA, verifying software versions, graphics pipelines, NDI bridge behaviour, clock/tally data flows and end‑to‑end signal paths.
• Maintain documentation, configuration records and security hygiene, including Windows builds, agent installations and technical handovers.

Required profile

• Proven experience with contribution encoders/decoders and live media transport workflows (LiveU, Makito, Appear X20, HyperDeck, SRT, RTMP).
• Strong knowledge of IP networking in broadcast or live‑production environments, including VLANs, multicast, Dante/AES67, KVM‑over‑IP and bonded connectivity.
• Hands‑on experience with OB graphics systems and fly‑away kit deployment.
• Ability to work on‑site at fast‑paced sporting events and deliver reliable technical support.
