Broadcast IP Delivery Engineer (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Sky is looking for a Broadcast IP Delivery Engineer to support live sports productions on outside‑broadcast (OB) trucks. The role is contract‑based for six months and involves preparing, configuring, testing and delivering a range of broadcast and IP‑based systems for domestic and international events.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, configure and test OB graphics systems such as Viz Engine, Trio, Chyron Prime, Tetra and Paint, including NDI/HTML5 workflows.
• Set up and manage connectivity and contribution equipment – Peplink, TVOB switches, Nimbra, Dante/AES67, Starlink, LiveU, Makito and Appear encoders.
• Build, stage and operate fly‑away kits (VFA/MCRFA), handling rack builds, network configuration and device patching.
• Provide on‑site engineering support at events, assisting with rig/derig, troubleshooting and ensuring reliable operation across multiple sports.
• Integrate Sky systems into partner OB trucks, configuring VLANs, IP kits, encoder frames and KVM endpoints.
• Conduct workflow testing and QA, verifying software versions, graphics pipelines, NDI behaviour, clock/tally data flows and end‑to‑end signal paths.
• Maintain documentation, configuration records and security hygiene for Windows builds and agents.

Required profile

• Proven experience with contribution encoders/decoders and live media transport workflows (LiveU, Makito, Appear X20, HyperDeck, SRT, RTMP).
• Strong knowledge of IP networking in broadcast environments, including VLANs, multicast, Dante/AES67, KVM‑over‑IP and bonded connectivity.
• Ability to work on‑site at fast‑paced live events and deliver reliable engineering support.
