Broker Backup Technician – Lloyd's Insurance

About the role

We are looking for a Broker Backup Technician to join a respected Lloyd’s insurance broker in Southend. The role supports the front‑office team by processing market slips, managing binding authorities and ensuring smooth policy administration.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and process open market slips, endorsements, cover notes and policy schedules.
• Create debit notes, monthly lineslip declarations and manage premium and risk bordereaux.
• Generate LPANs, submit work packages and maintain Earned‑to‑Incurred spreadsheets.
• Operate Atlas and Lineage systems daily, issue credit notes/EoCs and support Coverholder applications and audits.
• Calculate profit commissions, liaise with the claims team and track binder renewals, sending notices and chasers.
• Chase premium payments and handle Xchanging/Bureau queries.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements and maintain organised records for senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in a broker backup role within a Lloyd’s broker environment.
• Part ACII qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication, excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Required skills

• Brokasure, A&S, Atlas, Lineage, DCOM, PPL, AIF, ECF, IMR.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
