Broker Technician – North American Property

About the role

The Broker Technician supports North American property brokers by preparing and processing insurance documentation, calculating premiums and ensuring timely market placement. Working within a fast‑moving London office, you will act as a key back‑office resource, helping brokers deliver accurate proposals to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate premiums and enter data into the in‑house broking system.
• Produce credit/debit notes and premium adjustments, including MRCs and MRCEs.
• Prepare cover notes, broker insurance documents and maintain accurate records of calls, work‑in‑progress and statistical data.
• Respond to technical queries, process premiums and claims, and handle incoming enquiries from clients, insurers and third parties.
• Maintain diary records in Outlook and Global, ensuring documentation is signed and issued within 30 days of attachment.
• Monitor FCA updates, Lloyd’s Compliance – Atlas, and other London market platforms such as DA SATS and PPL.
• Check and quality‑assure slips and endorsements, and minimise late signings to the market.

Required profile

• Experience in insurance broking, preferably with property or North American placements.
• Familiarity with premium calculations, credit/debit note production and market compliance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple records and deadlines.
