BTEC Business Lecturer

About the role

Reed FE is seeking a BTEC Business Lecturer to join its network of colleges, prisons and training providers across South‑East England. The position can be part‑time or full‑time on a temporary basis, offering a competitive hourly rate that includes holiday pay.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess BTEC Business curriculum for learners aged 16‑19 and apprentices.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a supportive learning environment.
• Prepare lesson plans, resources and assessments in line with BTEC standards.
• Provide constructive feedback and monitor learner progress.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and safeguarding policies, including DBS requirements.

Required profile

• Teaching qualification such as AET, PTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education.
• Assessors qualification (e.g., A1, D33/D34, CAVA, TAQA, IQA) is desirable.
• Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Business.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Experience working with 16‑19‑year‑olds in an educational or apprenticeship setting.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
