Building Manager – Commercial Property

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Building Manager to lead the facilities operation of a commercial property in central Manchester. The role is full‑time and offers the chance to work within a dynamic, independent property management organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of both hard and soft facilities management services.
• Manage contracts, budgets and procurement processes to ensure effective service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, including fire risk, asbestos and water hygiene.
• Conduct regular property inspections and safety tours.
• Liaise with occupiers, staff and service providers to maintain smooth building operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities management, with a strong understanding of managing‑agent responsibilities.
• Knowledge of landlord‑tenant relationships within commercial property (preferred).
• Proven experience in health and safety management.
• Strong contract management and team‑leadership abilities.
• IOSH Managing Safely certification (essential); membership of IWFM/IOSH (preferred).
